Shine! Lent Daily Devotional

imageOne of the first ways that we feel called to “Reflect the Light of God” is to actually spend time in the light.  We sing “thy word is a lamp,” and believe through reading the scriptures, study, prayer, and fasting, we gain a fuller understanding of who we are and who God is.

This Lenten devotional is a chance to do just that… join our community of faith and spend time in the light each and every single day of this journey.

Pastor Katie has compiled a daily devotional to lead us through these scriptures together.  Romans 12 is the basis of our new church vision and this is a great opportunity to spend time in the light of God!

The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday – February 22 – and goes to Easter Sunday.  The forty days of Lent remind us of the forty days Moses spent on Mount Sinai, the forty days and nights God sent rain in the days of Noah, the forty years the Hebrews wandered in the wilderness, and especially the forty days that Jesus spent in the wilderness.  Along with these ancestors of our faith, we are invited to spend this time in prayer, in repentance, and in preparation for the work of God in our lives.

A booklet of the daily readings can be picked up at the church or you can follow along here on the website.  The links are to the right side of the page.
