Latest Flood Relief Needs
This is the latest update sent out from Clover Ridge UMC in Walford. They are doing a fantastic job of coordinating efforts, and rather than duplicate the system, let’s support them!!!
WARNING-update from 3m Company. Masks should only be used for 3 hours and then need to be changed to avoid inhaling bacteria.
Furniture collection/distribution is going very well. Our sign is attracting attention and people are stopping to ask if they can give. Flood victims are stopping to pick up items and also offering their help. NEED MORE FURNITURE - spread the word!!! Items are going out as fast as they come in and there is a waiting list of items people need.
Looking for temporary shelving units (plastic - stackable) to sort clothing so it is easier to locate sizes and types. When we are through using the shelves they can also be made available to flood victims.
Could use additional volunteers 9-4 manning the church and helping with the furniture drive. If you would like to volunteer call the church (319-846-2349) and speak with Janice or Cheryl. You don’t have to be available everyday all day - any help will be greatly appreciated.
If you have a truck or trailer and would be able to pick up and deliver furniture call the church and leave information with Janice or Cheryl. Could also use extra bodies to help load and unload.

Bug & Mosquito Repellent
We would like to get a list of volunteers to help scrape a couple of basement floors in Walford on Saturday, July 12th.
Marcus Beebe called in with the name of a woman he works with. She managed to get most of her house cleaned out by herself, but needs help with her basement. They will be going over Tuesday 7/1/08 from 4:00-? to work on the basement and any help would be greatly appreciated: call Marcus’ cell - 319-721-0712. Bring boots, gloves, masks, etc.
